   One step: point the arrow

   The arrow is the only instruction. Point it down your target line and the ball’s poles sit left and right of it. Everything that follows depends on it

   Straight lift, less curve

   Dimples grab the air and lift a spinning ball. Tilt that spin with an open or closed clubface and the lift leans sideways: that’s your slice. Polara makes the dimples around the equator shallower, to help convert slicing side spin into straight backspin

   Then deeper, row by row

   Past the shallow band the dimples deepen, row after row, the closer they get to the poles

   And alternating at the poles

   Each pole carries a square lattice: large deep dimples with a small one between every four. That keeps the ball rotating on the right axis

   Backspin stays backspin

   Together they bring the ball’s spin into line with the arrow. A straight shot is pure backspin: the ball rotates vertically and flies straight down the fairway. Point the arrow at the target and that is the line this ball wants to follow

   The cover does the steering

   Everything you just saw is cut into this 0.073″ cover. Soft Surlyn® material for maximum distance

7. 07

   The core does the distance

   1.535″ of soft polybutadiene for distance and feel. Compression 85: soft enough to compress on a normal swing and spring the ball off the face. Two pieces, and the dimples do the rest
